In the mid 1980s, Kevin Slimp decided that churches should have quality communication tools. Along with a partner, he started Insight Publishing company. Insight specialized in helping churches create periodicals for youth, children and families. By the time Kevin sold his share of Insight to his business partner, thousands of churches, representing dozens of denominations, subscribed to Insight's services.

Most people best remember Kevin Slimp for his work leading up to the development of the PDF Remote Printing Method in the early and mid 1990s.

In 1997, Kevin accepted the position of director of the Institute of Newspaper Technology, a continuing education program for newspaper publishers, designers and technical gurus located on campus at the University of Tennessee. Since 1994, Kevin has spoken at hundreds of conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition to his work in North America, Kevin has been asked to direct a program in Eastern Europe in commemoration of the rise of free press 20 years ago.

In 2006, Kevin founded BrainCast.biz, an online training program for professional designers. His syndicated column is carried by more than 60 professional publications in the U.S., Canada, Asia and Australia. He serves as Adjunct Professor in the College of Communication and Information at the University of Tennessee.

From 2000-2003, Kevin served as Director of Communications for the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.
