Meet the new chair of the Parliament of the World's Religions

Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid is Chairperson of the Council for a Parliament of World's Religions and executive producer of the daily Radio Islam program at WCEV 1450 AM, Chicago.

He served two terms as the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago. He also served at the Faith Advisory Council of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) as well as on the Credentials Committee of DNC 2008. As the national coordinator of the Bosnia Task Force USA in the 1990s he successfully led efforts in collaboration with the National Organization of Women (NOW) to declare rape as a war crime.

Imam Mujahid has written extensively on religion, public policy and applied aspects of Islamic living. He has authored one book in sociology, Conversion to Islam: Untouchables Strategy for Protest in India, which was named outstanding academic book of the year by the American Library Association in 1990.
